Iconic stock car publications in book form covering the history of the sport
Pictured below, and in Stock Car Books Part Two, are many of the book publications that have recorded the history and heritage of F1 stock car racing and along with the various magazines/newspapers (see separate page) are a rich source of information for anyone interested in the events of past seasons.
THE ABC OF STOCK CAR RACING
A 1955 publication by pioneer promotor Johnny Hoskins. It contains a lot of humour and many facts about the early days of the sport:

Published in 1960 and covers a defining time for stock car racing when efforts at proper organisation were giving the sport shape and substance for the future:

Written by early racer Pete Tucker and based on his travels around the country to various stadia in the days before motorways. It provides a fascinating insight not only into the stock car scene in the 1950s and 1960s but also the driver personalities of the time:

PETE TUCKERS'S OLD-TIME STOCK CAR SCRAP BOOK
Published in 2010 but covers stock car racing in the 1950s and 1960s with many nostalgic black and white pictures:

WILDBILL TO WILDCAT
One of many first rate publications by Keith Barber. The yellow covered edition appeared in 1971 and covered the first 18 seasons of F1 stock car racing. A second silver covered edition was published in 1979 to coincide with the sport's silver jubilee and extended the coverage from 1954 to 1979:
